Die beste Strategie gegen die eMail - Flut: Einfach durchscrollen
Laut Spiegel Online hat eine von IBM beauftragte Studie herausgefunden:
Filtern, Sortieren, in Ordner verpacken, Flaggen, Taggen, Labeln - all das bringt deutlich weniger, als eMails einfach in der INBOX zu lassen und optisch zu scannen.
Spiegel findet das besonders interessant, weil IBM ja Lotus Notes verkauft, eine Software, die u.a. dafuer bekannt ist, komplizierte Ordnungssysteme mitzubringen.
Leider ist mir nicht bekannt, ob IBM die 'Threaded View', bekannt aus Google Mail oder auch neueren Thunderbird - Versionen mit analyisiert hat.
Hier werden eMails, die von der Software zu einer bestimmten Konversation gerechnet werden - z.B. aufgrund von Betreff, Absender oder IMAP-Thread ID - untereinander angeordnet werden.
Ich benutze das nicht, aber einige meiner Kollegen.
Mein Verfahren ist der Gewinner von IBM. Wobei ich sagen muss, dass ich glaube, die Beanspruchung meiner Denkleistung ist eigentlich zu hoch. Ich weiss tatsaechlich, wer mir wann eMails geschrieben hat und ich gerate automatisch in Panik, wenn ich etwas vergesse :)

Die meisten guten Ideen scheitern an Modalitaeten, von der Zielfindung, also dem Was, ueber die Arbeitsweisen, also dem Wie.
Wer keine Zeit hat, sich hier durch jahrelange Erfahrung Expertise zu verschaffen, sollte sich die Gelegenheit nicht entgehen lassen.
Die FMS fördert Medienproduktionen durch die kostenfreie Teilnahme an einem "Creative Producer" Workshop - vom kreativen Konzept über Pitch & Präsentation bis Finanzierung / Förderung und Monetarisierung!!! Mit dem Aktionscode "fms2011foerderung" können 20 TeilnehmerInnen aus dem Kontext der FMS kostenfrei an folgenden Workshops teilnehmen, die ab 2012 jeden Montag stattfinden werden. Wer die Förderung nutzen will, muss seine Teilnahme pro Event einzeln anmelden!! Der Aktionscode ist nur noch im Mai 2011 gültig - also bitte umgehend anmelden!! Die Teilnahme ist übertragbar, wenn das Projekt selbst von der FMS als förderungswürdig anerkannt wurde! Wer also selbst zeitlich nicht kann, sollte versuchen eine Ersatzperson teilnehmen zu lassen!
Google Collaboratory releases Discussion Paper Series No 1
Google's Democracy Project IG Collaboratory has released an update with an online discussion paper.
The JQuery based software allows the user to read Collboratorie's Publications online as easy as in a printed version.

Using Org Mode for YML Files part I
We here at brueckenschlaeger do a lot with YAML. And we do a lot with emacs. And we do a lot with org mode.
These things are pretty cool.
Usually a org mode file looks like:

</pre>
You can then e.g. toggle (fold in and out) the children of one list-entry by pressing [TAB] --- and other very cool things.
Anyway: I tried it for YAML:

- blabla
</pre>
I didn't try everything yet and it seems like we will have to extend emacs org mode a little bit.
Anyway: This is nice, because it let's me write configuration files much more readable.
Now, i am writing this to motivate some people to drop me more information about other yaml- emacs attempts, while I am doing other stuff.

Google Collaboratory Think Tank mit guten Ideen zum Urheberrecht
Am Mittwoch hatte Google in Berlin einen Workshop im Rahmen des Collaboratory veranstaltet zum Thema Urheberrecht.
Dabei sind scheinbar brauchbare Empfehlungen entstanden, die in einem Positionspapier veredelt werden sollen.
Neu ist nicht alles, so erinnert man sich z.b. daran, dass in den USA schon ganz viel Geld damit gemacht wurde, das Urheberrecht zu lockern. Auch die Vermutung, Inhalte frei zu stellen diene der eigenen Karriere ist schon oefter mal am Stammtisch eroertert worden.
Was ich ganz toll finde, sind die schoenen Bilder.
