Configure Subdomains for Localhost under Debian

Angelegt von suung Wed, 22 Jun 2011 17:30:00 GMT

Our  Content Management Lite is great, but still requires domains or subdomains to seperate the different sites.

That's annoying, when you develop locally.

Here is a fix for debian linux, that will definetly be useful for you, if you are doing similar thing (developing websites) or just want to organize your machine better.

suung@q2:~$ sudo nano /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain

127.0.0.1 bs.localhost bs.localhost.localdomain

127.0.0.1 fv.localhost fv.localhost.localdomain

127.0.0.1 ca.localhost ca.localhost.localdomain

127.0.0.1 ad.localhost ad.localhost.localdomain

 suung@q2:~$ ping bsa.localhost

ping: unknown host bsa.localhost

 suung@q2:~$ ping bs.localhost

PING bs.localhost (127.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data.

64 bytes from localhost (127.0.0.1): icmp_req=1 ttl=64 time=0.087 ms

Git: How to make a diff on your current stash

Angelegt von andi Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:52:00 GMT

Imagine you stashed away some code for later use, do some stuff, and.. dawm, you forgot what it exactly was that you stashed. This little command might help, by showing a diff of your current HEAD and the next stash in the queue.

git stash show -u

Replacing Memcached with Dalli

Angelegt von suung Mon, 04 Apr 2011 11:22:00 GMT

If you want to store stuff in Memory you might want to use Memcached.

The guy. who maintained the ruby client, rolled a new one:

Here are the benchmarks:
